We are in another "weather event". It's cold.. 28 deg. F right now.. but when we ran some errands on Tuesday I picked up 3 little pots of spring flowers.. they are bringing me hope for Spring. These are little Narcissus Tete-a-Tete and are tiny, about the size of the end of your thumb from the knuckle. HAHA.. made ya look!
I got a glass bowl out and nestled the 3 pots in it. I got a Cyclamen in pink and a Hyacinth which I am not sure what color it will be.. pink I hope.
But guess what is going on outside? SLEET.. frozen rain.. chunky rain.. and as the weather woman just said on TV.. the weather is... JUICY. What??? That's a new one for me.
Cyclamen remind me of butterflies.
Our power went out last night at 10:35 and stayed out for 17 hours. Dayle started the generator so the pellet stove still ran but it got really cold in the house.. it was 57 deg. F and we are usually at 72 deg. F. We have a sheet of ice outside. So, this is me with my hat and scarf on and covered with a wool Pendleton blanket. Brrrrr. The reason this blog post is late is due to lack of electricity. :-)
Now for the frightfulness. Every day our new POTUS (President of the US) does something that concerns me.
DT's chief advisor, Steve Bannon, was given a security role usually held for generals on the National Security Council.
DT put in place a travel ban on Muslims entering the USA from 7 predominantly Muslum countries.
DT fired Acting Attorney General Sally Yates when she refused to enforce his executive order as she didn't think it was constitutional.
His Supreme Court nominee is Judge Gorsuch - those who voted for Trump expect that he will endeavor to overturn Roe vs. Wade so that pregnancy terminations will be illegal once more.
DT authorized a raid in Yemen which killed 28 people, women and children, and cost the life of one of our military commandos. Read more HERE.
Melania Trump is refusing to move to the White House so taxpayers are having to pay a million dollars a day for security for them in Trump Tower.
Trump tells his female staff he expects them to "dress like a women".
